WEST CHESHIRE College is celebrating after being commended by Ofsted inspectors for its partnerships with employers.
With campuses in Chester, Ellesmere Port and Capenhurst, the College has also been praised for the continued improvement in its examination results.
The inspection team singles out the ‘excellent’ employer partnerships which benefit students through improved access to work placements and better understanding of skill needs.
The College was also commended for delivering many of its courses directly with employers and for being well-matched to vocational and industry sector needs, as well as successfully raising students’ aspirations.
College principal, Sara Mogel explained: ‘We are delighted with these results. They show we continue to improve at a fast rate with the majority of our students achieving their targets and many achieving additional qualifications including English and maths.
‘A high and increasing proportion of our students also continue their education at university and we have many students taking up employment through our excellent partnership with employers.’
Ms Mogel added: ‘We now look forward to continuing this collaboration with employers and to developing courses with them to help meet students’ needs and interests.’
Inspectors were impressed with the College’s support systems and their effectiveness in meeting the needs of students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Ms Mogel said: ‘Every year West Cheshire College supports over 620 learners with disabilities to enable them to be successful both with their studies and in the workplace.’
