"My appointment takes us forward into a bright future" said Carolyn after being presented with the recently acquired swim 21 accreditation.

"The club has an enthusiastic committee- a pool full of excited youngsters, and team of teachers and coaches already to move forward.

I have already been approached by Parents offering support and Help.

The Swim21 certificate was presented by Nik Turnbull, the regional Development Officer of Swim Northwest, who highly praised the Shark's achievement, which was due mainly to the efforts of Chairman Mark Davies, and former Chairman Ian Hesketh.

Northwich Welsh Society

For the first time in over a decade, members celebrated St David's Day outside the town. This year at the Masonic Hall, Middlewich, even though many members were in France for the rugby international game, there was a good attendance for the traditional leek soup and lamb lunch.

Bilingual grace was said by Joan Lewis of Castle.

Chairman Anthony Masson, Knutsford gave the toast to St David and referred to his many achievements. Of Great Britain's national patron saints, David is the only indigenous one.

The toast to the Society was given by vice chairman Gwili Lewis who touched on past highlights, and his vision of major future activities.
