For the second year running Ellesmere Port City Tennis Club's under 8s team made it through to the county's Red League finals, where this year they beat Stockton Heath, Hoylake, Brabyns and Nantwich to bring home the cup.

Carol Clarke, of Ellesmere Port Tennis Club, which is based at West Cheshire College, said: "There is some great young talent in the Club at the moment and we are delighted to see them doing so well."

Ellesmere Port City Tennis Club is rapidly turning into a force to be reckoned with in the region with the Under 10s A team winning Wirral Summer League.

The Under 10s B team, Under 12s A team, Under 14 team and Under 18 team have all been promoted to their respective Division 1s for the 2009 season.
